Meet the adorable Baby D! I had the pleasure of photographing this cutie when he was 12 days old. He was such a good sleeper and oh so easy. I hope he slept that well later for Mom! I loved the variety we were able to capture with him (thanks to how well he slept!). Congratulations to Mom and Dad! He is perfect!

Oh Baby! {Downers Grove, Naperville Newborn Photographer}

Where do a I start with this session?! It was so wonderful in so many ways! I had the pleasure of photographing this 9 day old beautiful baby boy, Benjamin, recently. I normally do my newborn sessions in my studio, but this family really wanted to include Benjamin’s furry brothers, so we did the session in their home. Their dogs were great, and yes, they even posed for me, with the help of Mom and Dad! I’ll admit I was a little nervous going into it, hoping that I could get the shot with the 3 dogs and baby. I was thrilled with how it turned out and so happy when Mom and Dad wanted to include that shot on Benjamin’s birth announcements!

We did most of the session in Benjamin’s nursery, which was stunning! Beautifully decorated, and a dream with lighting from a photographer’s perspective! I loved all the details and personal touches. Benjamin was absolutely perfect for the session – he was awake and content at the beginning for pictures with Mom and Dad, and then he was OUT! He slept through it all and we were able to get a number of different set ups. As I tell my newborn clients, the baby leads the way – thank you Benjamin for leading by sleeping so soundly!! Congrats to Mom and Dad on your beautiful addition to your family and thank you for choosing me to capture this wonderful time!

Communion Time! {Downers Grove, Hinsdale Children’s Photographer}

Yep, it’s Communion time! I have had the pleasure of photographing a number of First Holy Communion sessions recently. Such a wonderful, sacred and beautiful time in the lives of these kids. I remember it fondly with my own girls, and love capturing this time for others. Meet M, a handsome boy that I photographed for his Communion. I took his older sister’s Communion portraits a few years back, and Mom shared that her favorite picture was the one holding the rosary, so we of course had to do that as well. It really is my favorite picture to take for this type of session as it really captures the meaning of this special day. M was a great in front of the camera – very at ease and comfortable in his suit. And I loved his bow tie – loved it!! Congrats to you on your First Holy Communion M!

The P Family {Downers Grove, Naperville Family & Children’s Photographer}

I recently had the P Family in my studio to take some family portraits, but primarily to capture their beautiful daughter, Kayla, who is 6 months old! I met Kayla when she was a week old to take her newborn pictures. It was a wonderful session then, and this one was no different! Kayla is now sitting up, showing her personality, and clearly the apple of her parents eyes!! She was pretty serious at the beginning – not unhappy, but giving me the stare down looks for awhile. Eventually, she started smiling away though! Thank you P Family for a great session – look forward to seeing you all again!
